Young Shaquille O’Neal Wasn’t Afraid of Veteran Karl Malone Trying To Put Him Down: “I’m Gonna Be the Man One Day”

A young Shaquille O’Neal can be seen responding to Karl Malone in a resurfaced video. Karl Malone made a remark that he wasn’t impressed with Shaq. When asked if this bothers him, O’Neal prophesied, “Not at all, I’m gonna be the man one day”.

O’Neal was asked whether he has faced any intimidation from veterans in the league. Shaq stated, “When I get mad, I just get more dominant” comparing himself to other players that are taken out of the game when they get angry.

Shaq, also known as, the Big Diesel, eventually played together with Karl Malone in the Lakers in 2003. However, Shaq ended his career with 4 rings, Malone had none. Karl Malone, himself a two-time league MVP, would probably not make that statement now.

Remarkably, Shaquille O’Neal spent 19 seasons with six different teams. In a total of 1,207 regular-season games, he had a total of 1278 blocks. Additionally, he averaged 23.7 points, 10.9 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 2.3 blocks in his illustrious career. Moreover, he has made an All-Star appearance 15 times in his 19 seasons.

Reportedly, his philanthropic endeavors include buying a man’s engagement ring and donating $35,000 for employee relief to an Atlanta restaurant.

The ‘Diesel’ is not only an NBA analyst but also a part-time DJ and a part-time police officer in Florida. Shaq was also an attraction at last year’s Formula One, US Grand Prix. He even played his DJ set after giving away the trophy to the current champion, Max Verstappen. Notably, Shaq is currently venturing into the NFT space as well.
