LeBron James is arguably the best all-around player in the NBA. From scoring to passing to rebounding, the man is an expert in all domains. It is this all-around play that has earned him success during his NBA career. In fact, he has won 4 titles with three franchises, the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Miami Heat, and the Los Angeles Lakers.

Hence, there is no doubt that the ‘King’ has plenty of fan following due to his achievements, not just in the aforementioned cities, but all over the world. One piece of evidence of this fact is the 2022 All-Star captaincy that he earned from fan votes.

However, there have been several occasions when LeBron has enjoyed sports from a fan’s perspective. Being from Ohio, not only has the ‘King’ supported the Cleveland Browns, but has also been seen supporting several other teams over the years. Recently, LeBron cleared the air regarding the reason why he is a fan of multiple franchises.

LeBron James provides clarity
Being a fan of a team means that you stick with that franchise, whatever the case may be. But with LeBron extending support to several teams over the years, fans came forward with claims that the ‘King’ was not a true supporter. However, LeBron cleared the air amidst the chaos.
LeBron James made it clear he's a Browns fan first, but supports teams in the city he plays in like he did in Miami (Dolphins, Hurricanes, Marlins) as well as his hometown Cleveland.

As mentioned, the ‘King’ is primarily a fan of the Cleveland Browns because of his home state. But he does support other teams in the NFL such as the Miami Dolphins and the Los Angeles Rams since he was a player (and still is in the case of Los Angeles) for the basketball franchises of the same cities. Here’s a tweet from LeBron, after Super Bowl LVI, as a piece of evidence in support of his case.

Apart from this, LeBron even supports teams outside of the NFL. These include the Miami Marlins and the Los Angeles Dodgers from the MLB. Clearly, he is supporting his city’s franchises as a fellow sports person.

In Conclusion
As stated earlier, LeBron’s extension of support is out of sportsmanship and respect. Despite being from Ohio, he has always respected the franchises and the cities that those teams belong to due to him being a sports star of those same cities.

If anything, it is this quality of sportsmanship that people should take away from LeBron’s acts. Furthermore, and in light of the Lakers, LeBron can use the success stories of the teams he supports to fuel the fire for a Lakers comeback in the second half of the season.
