NBA superstar Stephen Curry and the new billionaire, rapper Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, wanted to acquire an NFL team in 2017. Recently, after multiple terminated business deals, rapper Kanye West is not a billionaire anymore. As per reports, Ye now has an estimated net worth of $400 million. Diddy on the other hand has recently become hip-hop’s newest billionaire according to reports. Even before he became a billionaire, he revealed his desire to acquire the Carolina Panthers in the NFL.

On Friday, Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs became the third hip-hop artist to be a billionaire according to reports. Other than his ?Bad Boy Records? label, Diddy also has his other businesses like Ciroc and Revolt to thank for his new billionaire status. Ciroc?is a brand of?alcoholic beverages produced in France since 2003. Combs then launched Revolt in 2013.

In 2017, Jerry Richardson, the former owner of the Panthers was in the midst of sexual misconduct allegations. So Richardson announced he is ready to sell the organization. The former player established the franchise in 1993 and owned it for 23 years.

When Jerry Richardson stated his decision to sell the Panthers, Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs took to Twitter to show his interest in the franchise. ?I would like to buy the @Panthers. Spread the word. Retweet!,??Diddy?tweeted, adding, ?There are no majority African American NFL owners. Let?s make history.?

NBA superstar Stephen Curry was raised in Charlotte, North Carolina. He was interested in joining hands with the rapper to acquire the franchise. So he expressed his desire with a tweet of his own and Diddy then replied and asked Curry to reach out to him.

However, they were not able to acquire the Panthers. Billionaire David Tepper reportedly bought the franchise for $2.275 billion in 2018. He was a minority owner of the Pittsburgh Steelers. He sold his stakes before becoming the majority owner of the Panthers.

Ever since Tepper took over, the Panthers have been struggling and they have not reached the playoffs since 2017. This season, they have a record of 2-6 and will be hoping to improve.

As per reports, Curry now has an estimated net worth of $160 million. Also, there are multiple reports suggesting he would soon be a billionaire. So it will be interesting to see if Curry would show an interest in being an owner of a franchise in the future.
