This particular episode has the two championship level coaches discussing their unique perspectives from their respective positions. The podcast is also to raise money for COVID-19 relief.
Not to our surprise, Kerr praises his beloved GSW star Steph Curry here too. It seems Curry is not only his favorite because of his skills, but also because of his happy and joyful nature. Talking about the same, Kerr says, “I happen to inherit the most joyful basketball player ever in NBA history, Steph Curry”
Further, Kerr talks about how it is important to have a “connection with key players.” When asked about how he managed to do the same with his players, Kerr revealed,
“ We had great talent and they were already good. That was the first thing we tried to do as a coaching staff. We’d go in there and tell the guys, ‘ we respect what you’ve already done. We’re here to try to help you take the next step’.”
Steve Kerr became Warriors head coach in 2014. It was the year before Steph had one of the best seasons of his life. That probably secured their bond further. Throughout the years, Kerr seems to have looked out for and encouraged Curry as much as possible.
In the 2015-16 season, Curry had 1.7 points, 5.7 rebounds, 7.0 assists, 2.3 steals, 32.6 usage rate, 66.9 true shooting percentage as his per 36-minute split.
