In the case of Kobe, it was so sudden and unexpected because on January 26th: “A few hours before (the accident) Kobe was tweeting at LeBron (James) about passing him (on the NBA career scoring list).” Then he simply took a helicopter, which he had taken so many times, but this time would be his last. Kobe had said that going from place to place in a helicopter was a habit because he lived in LA and it helped him save time. “He gets on his helicopter like he’s done so many times to go to his daughter’s game and then 40 minutes later he’s gone,” Marshall added.
