Whether it be historic deals or franchise overhauls, the league is in disarray. A franchise changing its ownership outlook is the next domino to fall. However, the change has brought some fond connections for another MLB owner. After breaking barriers in his acquisition of the Los Angeles Dodgers, Magic Johnson is more than happy to accommodate those next in line to follow in his footsteps.

The Baltimore Orioles’ changing ownership signals a changing tide. Among the new men in charge are NBA and MLB legends, Grant Hill and Cal Ripken Jr. respectively. And Magic, as the trailblazer himself, was quick to pen a note to them.

Since taking over the team, he has led them to 10 straight NL titles, including multiple World Series appearances and victories. Keeping his time in the NBA as a backdrop, the 5x NBA Champion may have brought Showtime, or the closest thing to it, to the MLB as well.
