Beyonce Grabs Magic Johnson’s Undivided Attention With Latest Release; Gets Crowned With Bold Title

Magic Johnson yet again proves talent recognizes talent. Beyonce recently dropped her latest album and the ex-NBA legend is all awestruck. The 3x NBA champion took to his social media to give her the highest possible appreciation in the industry. He compared the 42-year-old singer with Michael Jackson. “You are women’s history!”, he wrote.

“Just like I say Michael Jackson is the greatest male entertainer of all time, you are the greatest female entertainer of all time,” he stated in his appreciation post on Instagram. The ex-LA Lakers icon started his tribute by recognizing Beyonce as a living icon for her latest album, ‘Cowboy Carter’. He further termed the singer a multifaceted force as a singer, songwriter, director, actress, record producer, and entrepreneur.

“With over 160 million records sold, countless awards won (including a historical 32 Grammys), featured roles in eight movies, two fashion lines, and now a new hair care line..it’s impossible to argue that your influence on culture is irreplaceable,” read the post. Magic Johnson further emphasized that he was looking forward to the 42-year-old singer bringing more representation into the country genre and ‘amplifying the Black voice’.

It is worth mentioning that Beyonce’s ‘Cowboy Carter’ has received a lot of appreciation from fans and experts alike. Some have stated the singer’s voice to be the best it’s ever been in her career.

Meanwhile, Page Six’s Nicholas Hautman called it “the revival that country music so desperately needed”. Meanwhile BBC News music correspondent Mark Savage stated the album “proves her adaptability and mastery, regardless of genre”.

This further explains Magic Johnson’s greatest compliment to Beyonce. However, this is not the first time that the ex-NBA icon has appreciated the singer.

The 3x NBA champion had lauded the Queen Bey for her performance at the Grammys back in 2017. “Beyonce, the world’s best singer and entertainer stole the show with her #GRAMMYs performance!,” he posted on X.

He had also congratulated her when she broke the record for the most Grammy wins of all time, with 32 wins after the 2023 Grammy Awards in Los Angeles. It is worth mentioning that Beyonce had won 4 awards at the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards. Taking to his official X account, Magic took the opportunity to congratulate the singer. However, it’s not as if the ex-Lakers star has only been a Beyonce supporter through her achievements. 

He raised his voice in her support when he felt that Grammys’ recognition of the singer was underwhelming for her record-breaking achievement. “Over the weekend, I was very disappointed with the lack of tribute and recognition the Recording Academy showed Beyoncé after she became the most decorated artist in Grammy history with 32 Grammy awards,” read a post by Magic Johnson in Queen Bey’s support. And this support now remains constant with the 64-year-old’s praise for ‘Cowboy Carter’.
