Charles Barkley has constantly criticized the Golden State Warriors for as long as anyone can remember. He does not leave anyone related to the Bay Area alone. Even going for their fiery fanbase. From calling their gameplay “girly” to just outright pointing out deficiencies, Chuck has truly become a nightmare for Stephen Curry and Co. But the former president of basketball operations at GSW, Bob Myers, finally broke his silence.

Taking a seat on the ESPN talk show, Myers dismissed Barkley with just a few words. “[Charles Barkley] doesn’t even watch the games. He’s been hurting the Warriors since 14-15. We got 4 titles after that. So Barkley, we don’t worry about that.” The 48-year-old went on to state that the Warriors were going to be fine.

Myers didn’t state anything wrong. The Warriors did win 4 championships after that. But it hardly matters to the 11x All-Star as he continues to bash the Warriors. He has been extremely critical of former Warriors star Kevin Durant as well. He claimed that KD didn’t earn the two titles he won in San Francisco, calling the Slim Reaper a “bus rider“. There’s not much about GS that Barkley seems to like.

This couldn’t come at a worse time as the 60-year-old had pretty much cooked Myers for “jumping ship early“. Myers had taken it in his stride during the merge of TNT and ESPN for the semi-finals on Thursday night. Nevertheless, one could argue that it had some impact on his jab at Chuck.

Barkley’s TNT co-host Shaquille O’Neal attended a charity function last month where SFGate asked him why the Chuckster hated the Warriors. Surprisingly, Shaq’s response was not what we would have expected.

Charles Barkley has a different motive for all the criticism

According to him, “There’s no hate. Chuck knows exactly what he’s doing. It’s all marketing.” That was quite the answer. It won’t be wrong to say that Barkley is to the Warriors what Bayless is to LeBron James. Shaq, for his part, is an ardent supporter of Curry. While Chuckster has been okay with giving credit to Curry where it’s due, he is definitely not the ‘Big Diesel‘.

From heaping praises on the Warriors’ superstar to forming a dream team, O’Neal is deeply appreciative of Curry. Yet to find somewhat substantial evidence of the ‘Why’ in Barkley vs Warriors, we might have to be content with Shaq’s answer for now.
