Well, that makes it official, folks. The Boston Celtics don’t have any chance of winning the NBA Championship this season. In an infamous tradition that has existed since he joined the show, Charles Barkley predicted about the entire season. But, with the history of his guarantees, likely, the Celtics will not win the whole thing. Unfortunately, the curse of the Barkley GUARANTEE might be on them.

Discussing the NBA season so far, Barkley revealed that he wasn’t fully sold on the Minnesota Timberwolves and their explosive emergence. However, his belief in Boston is at an all-time high. “The Boston Celtics are the best team in the NBA…The Boston Celtics are going to win the Championship. Guarantee.”

But, there are a few question marks that the Chuckster has for the franchise. “Ernie, I will say one thing that makes me nervous. That [Kristaps] Porzingis is hurting. Like, he gotta be healthy. But, I’m still going with the Celtics. I think Jrue Holiday to go with those two guys and Porzingis if he can stay healthy…He doesn’t have to be [dominant]. He’s the 4th best player on the team. He just has to be the best 4th best player in the NBA.” 

In the early parts of the season, the Celtics certainly looked the part of a contender. While their offense has been clunky at times, their defense remains elite. The additions of Holiday and Porzingis have been a seamless fit to their system.

Along with them, the versatility of Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown continues to shine through. As a result, despite a loaded Eastern Conference bracket, the Celtics sit atop the table. But can they maintain this form? Or is the curse of Barkley out to get them? The fans from Beantown are certainly worried.

The quote in question said, “RIP to Boston’s title chances. the Charles Barkley guarantee is undefeated.”Unfortunately for Chuck, the sentiment was shared by most fans. “Plz no Chuck” with a Joe Berthanal Punisher meme became the best reply to the prediction as fans worry about Boston’s chances moving forward.

The common consensus was that fans in Boston had to be in a world of pain.

One fan, in particular, had the history receipt ready as well. “Welp there goes our chances, the last two seasons he’s “guaranteed” that we were gonna win, we’ve lost, we’ll either lose in the conference finals or finals in an unfortunate way.” 

Fans in Boston are sure to hope that this is the year the tradition changes. “Chuck you better be right this season. Every time Chuck bet on the Celtics in the playoffs last season, they lost”
