Almost every year, the same script plays out to a tee. But each year is either more surprising or embarrassing than the last. This season, however, might very well take the cake. Despite boasting the 2nd seed and showcasing some of the best football of the year, the Dallas Cowboys fell apart in historically epic fashion. Even noted Green Bay Packers hater, and NBA veteran, Eddie A Johnson had to put his grudge aside.

“Look i admit that i cant stand the @packers but damm. That was an impressive butt whipping they put on the @dallascowboys.” A Chicago-born native, Eddie’s dislike for the Packers is obvious and understandable. Due to the long-standing rivalry between the Chicago Bears and Green Bay, it might be hard to find another instance of the NBA veteran praising the team. But it was more about the Cowboys.

Lose to the youngest team in the league? Check. The first team to lose to the 7th seed since the bracket’s expansion? Check. Down 27-0 at half to a first-year quarterback? Check. Disappoint fans, media, and players simultaneously? Check. With the eye of the nation on them, the Cowboys found a way to lose. While Jordan Love was sensational in his playoff debut with a perfect QB rating, the story was always about ‘Dem Boyz.

On the other hand, the Packers may have found its next all-time great quarterback. Riding a wave of momentum and hot streak, how far can Love carry them in the playoffs? Because we do know, Eddie will make sure to cheer for the opposing team.

What’s next for the Dallas Cowboys after a historic collapse?

The questions for Dallas now begin. Is the defense actually that good? Despite boasting a lofty front line including Micah Parsons, the team was able to do nothing against a rookie quarterback en route to a 158.3 game. Is the regular season success a fluke? For the year, the team wasn’t mightily successful against teams above .500 teams. Could that have been a sign of things to come?

Is a coaching change necessary with names like Pete Carroll, Jim Harbaugh, and Bill Belichick on the market? Mike McCarthy has continued to fail to produce results, and owner Jerry Jones grows ever impatient. Could a major overhaul be in order? And last, but not least.
