Stephen Curry’s defeat to Charles Barkley and Phil Mickelson

For the Capital One’s “The Match: Champions for Change” in 2020. Phil Mickelson and the Philadelphia 76ers legend joined hands for a silent battle against the power duo of Peyton Manning and the baby-faced assassin.?

While Barkley’s golf history is not unfamiliar to the fans, the legend had professional golfer and three-time master title winner Michaelson, on his side. Quite an unusual but intriguing team. Even if the Lefty was a formidable opponent, the other side featured amateur and skilled golfers.

Despite being more balanced, Curry and Manning lost to Barkley’s duo. While we know the NBA legend for his unorthodox swing, he kicked off the game with a really great performance. He hit two fairways in the beginning. The duo lost the first hole but maintained the lead throughout the rest of the game. It was the Warriors player?s first match and losing to Chuck didn’t sit well with him.

In his latest conversation involving golf, he said, ?I have Tahoe over his head, forever. Not even in the same category.” He added, “But, [Barkley] and Phil Mickelson hustled me and Peyton Manning back in the first “match” that I played in. So, I can?t ever live that down. It still stings that I lost in anything golf to Chuck.?

Stephen Curry?s counter-attack on Charles Barkley?s rivalry

The American Century championship has been a wonderful experience for both the basketball stars. The NBA legend made back-to-back birdies, and the 9x NBA All-Star won his first ACC championship.?

While Curry is more than happy with his victory, he hilariously added how he might use it against the ex-Phoenix Suns star.?

Speaking to Monte Poole and Dalton Johnson, Curry laughed it off. ?He can keep hating on [the Warriors], saying we?re cooked. But I?ll just send him a picture of me with the American Century trophy and a ring on, and it?ll be cool.?

Stephen Curry’s success on the golf course

Curry is the second basketball player to win an American Century championship. Back in 2021, Vinny Del Negro won the first championship. The 9x NBA All-Star is also the first active athlete to win a championship. He made the longest shot on the seventh hole during the second round. He clinched the win by sinking a championship-sealing putt from a distance of 15 feet.

With three attempts in hand, Curry impressively aced the shot from 152 yards away on his first try. One of the significant shots, given that no one in ACC history had previously secured a hole-in-one on the seventh hole, and only five aces have been noted in the course’s history. Despite achieving many accolades in golf, the memory of losing to Barkley still seems to be vivid to Curry.?
