Throughout NBA history, only a few players have received consideration for unanimously being best player in the league. Whether it was Michael Jordan in the ’90s or LeBron James in the 2010s, only a few held that crown. However, at the start of the 21st century, one man was dominating the league. During his nearly 20-year run in the NBA, Shaquille O’Neal was among the most feared athletes.

While a man of the people, the Los Angeles Lakers legend shook off the humility robe this one time.

In his NBA career, there was nary a thing that Shaq did not achieve. Whether it was scoring titles, MVPs, or championships, the big man drafted by the Orlando Magic took on allcomers. Going up against him was a physically dreadful task, with his sheer size and ferocity.

Sometimes his ruthlessness almost put players in harm’s way as well. After all, at his peak, there wasn’t a more terrifying force than the 7-footer.

Highlighting his accomplishments, Shaq shared a video on his IG story. The clip waxes lyrical about the 4-time NBA Champion.

Shaq came to the NBA weighing less than 300 pounds and was successful even then. But in his prime, he was around 350 of pure muscle and vicious force and would dunk anything thrown his way…In his prime, he was the best player in the league.”

Then, the voiceover addressed Shaq’s favorite maneuver in the game. “To post up and lean on a defender with all his mass. And then, as the defender was using all his strength and focus just to stay in place, Shaq would spin off of him. And dunk the ball. He named this move – The Black Tornado.”

The most peculiar Shaq record

Rookie of the Year, 2-time Scoring Champion, MVP, 4-time Champion, and 15 All-Star appearances; Shaq’s resume is as stacked as any other player in NBA history.

However, there is one record that is more unusual than any other. His unrivaled ferocity saw the 300-pounder come away with 12.5 broken rims during his days. Interestingly enough, Shaq has a “tree” in his estate made out of those broken rims serving as branches.
