With 6 championships, 5 MVPs and $3.5 billion in hand, Michael Jordan has a rather unblemished record. That is, of course, if you are not a fan of the Charlotte Hornets. His ownership stint spanning over a decade never saw them reach Round 2. Yet, earlier this year, MJ sold the franchise for $3 billion. It would be one of the only silver linings to his time as an owner. However, if there was one good thing he left the team, it would be 6’7 point guard, LaMelo Ball.

While the 2021 Rookie of the Year has repeatedly expressed his gratitude for working with the Chicago Bulls legend, his father was certainly a different case. Years after his comments about Michael Jordan made him a laughing stock, the 55-year-old reiterated those same plans recently. Moreover, he even gave a blueprint as to how he would achieve the impossible.

Even though he first burst onto the scene due to his hype for Lonzo Ball, LaVar’s takes have gotten more outlandish since. Whether it be all-timers like Shaquille O’Neal, Charles Barkley, MJ, or even current-day superstars like LeBron James, Ball doesn’t back down from anyone.

Speaking to VLADTV, LaVar spoke about his edge over Shaq, bringing Michael Jordan into the equation.

You don’t own nothing, you partner up…You have to invest in somebody else’s…That’s not your stuff. And you know when you gonna find out…When you leave this earth and it don’t go to your family. You going to be really mad. You know who else gonna be mad? Michael Jordan don’t own Jumpman.”

While his analysis of his ‘superiority’ over the two Hall of Famers had some merit, the argument doesn’t entirely hold true.

Despite not ‘owning’ the brand itself, their deals are far larger than the return for LaVar’s brand ownership, a sum that will ultimately go to people according to their respective wills. For Shaq, the current evaluation is over $400 million, while Mike recently became the first athlete on the Forbes list with $3.5 billion.

However, the father of MJ’s former team, the Charlotte Hornets’ superstar LaMelo Ball, didn’t stop there. He even gave an explanation about his infamous comments about Jordan from years past, detailing exactly how he would beat the GOAT.

As he spoke about his prior comments about “killing” Michael one-on-one, LaVar had a one-word response for him. “Easy”.

Then, the loudmouth went into his explanation of the why and the how. “Too fast, too strong, there’s nothing he could do...He’s 210, I’m weighing 270, and can jump, fast. I’m just gonna bag him in, push him off his feet. He like a little baby to me.”

According to Ball, he was also ambidextrous in his ability, claiming that he could shoot a jump hook from either hand over Black Jesus.

In a wild interview where he even called out Charles Barkley’s hypocrisy, LaVar was in peak form. How the reception to his comments comes out is a different matter entirely.
