The year 2024 is off to an electric start. The plan was already in store for Dwyane Wade and his family, with his wife proclaiming to begin the year. But that plan has seen some setbacks. Some are unmitigable. Others, however, were a product of her lofty standards. Due to major delays, her latest beauty product required a word from the 51-year-old to clarify the entire situation. As it turns out, her search for perfection was the main reason for the product being pushed back in a major way.

An interview with her hairstylist and close friend, Larry Sims, saw them announce their newest introduction. Sims would take the first lead. “Okay, so this glaze is a problem. One of our main missions with wanting to go into the glaze space is to create something that was seamless, that was perfect, that was flawless.”

He would reveal how they “took our time with it”. Then, Gabrielle Union took over. “We thought we had it…We tested it out and we were like, we don’t have it. So, we had to go back to the drawing board because we wanted it to be flawless.”

Then, the model, actress, as well as entrepreneur would make her brand promise. “We’re not putting anything out there before it’s ready. So, even though the demand was there, we were like, we got to get it right…And if it doesn’t look good on camera, it’s not going to look good in your mirror.” While they went into further detail about their product, it was clear the current iteration was one that the duo was proud of.

Dwyane Wade reveals interesting name choice

The recent Hall of Fame inductee has taken his talents into the podcasting sector. A growing trend among athletes, both current and former, Wade’s experience as a game show host and occasionally forays into the analyst chair does give him a leg up. However, his brand new venture has a background story behind it.

Bringing the rest of his HoF class on the first episode, The Why was officially underway. But it isn’t just the question that the title alludes to. Rather, it has a special connection to The Flash’s name as well. With his rather unorthodox spelling of the name Dwyane, it is often misspelled and is a problem he’s encountered for much of his life. So, the “why” also doubles as a “Y” in an ode to that confusion.
