The new year is off with a bang for Gabrielle Union. When not setting social media on fire, the model/actress wife of Dwyane Wade is killing it on the silver screen. That success is where her latest Instagram post took fans. A heartwarming update celebrating “The Color Purple”, and the “sisterhood” it gave birth to, brought a response from the show’s star as well.

Sharing snippets from her dressing room and the party itself, Union was candid in her caption as well. “My favorite place to be is within the warmth of the sisterhood.” The message led to Taraji P Henson quickly responding in kind.

“That look was 🔥🔥🔥. You so puuuurrrdy”, accompanied by multiple purple hearts to reference their joint venture. Others, too, were highly complimentary of Gabrielle’s fashion, and this look in particular.

The Color Purple is, of course, a franchise that not many need an introduction to. An epistolary novel that first came out in 1982, it would be adapted to the big screen in 1985 in the form of a musical thriller. Union and the crew have brought it to life once more. A gritty movie, it tells the story of a Southern woman who struggles to find her identity after suffering from severe abuse at the hands of her father. Her journey towards finding herself and the relationships she builds form the crux of the entire movie.

In that vein, Gabe’s caption makes even more sense. With the movie already at a 7.7 IMDB score, the critics are loving the film. As a result, her rendezvous at the Golden Globes pre-party has been a spot for grabbing more highlights for her and the team.

Gabrielle Union is still not on board with Dwyane Wade’s idea

A near-16-year veteran, Dwyane Wade takes his fitness very seriously. However, his latest “obsession” isn’t one she can fully appreciate. Even though she sees the benefits it comes with, Gabrielle is not a fan of “hot yoga”.

“I don’t love hot yoga. I’ve actually done it I-don’t-know-how-many times. Every time, I say, Ok, this is my last time.” But, even with all her criticism, she keeps returning to it due to Wade’s love for it. However, the hot and humid conditions aren’t for her. She would rather do pilates in the air conditioning.

Unlike her fitness choices, though, her work isn’t limited by the conditions she’s in. Instead, her focus is on making the best product possible, resulting in something as special as The Color Purple.
