Heat legends and longtime teammates Dwyane Wade and Udonis Haslem are teaming up once again. But this time, it’s not on the court. Instead of lacing up for battle, they’ll join Amazon Prime’s NBA analyst panel when the network launches its coverage this upcoming season. Their relationship hasn’t been that typical, good-vibes-only teammate connection. Because it was built on rings, respect, and the occasional courtside shouting match too. Having won three titles together and sharing over a decade of battles, these two Heat icons know each other inside and out. But that bond hasn’t always looked like the buddy-comedy friendships we see from other famous NBA duos who turned television personalities over the years.

On Monday, Prime Video officially announced that Wade and Haslem would join Steve Nash and Candace Parker for their brand-new NBA broadcast team. Both former Heat stars have done solid TV work since retiring, holding down ESPN appearances and launching their own fan-favorite online podcasts. But here’s where it gets tricky. Fans aren’t exactly sure about Wade and Haslem sharing the desk as easygoing, playful analysts.

After Prime Video posted a photo featuring the four legends, fans immediately hit the comments section with mixed reactions and a little worry. It turns out, many followers feel their chemistry comes off more professional than genuinely relaxed, and people definitely picked up on that vibe.

Fans’ reaction on seeing Udonis Haslem and Dwyane Wade together

The moment Prime Video announced Dwyane Wade and Udonis Haslem as part of their NBA analyst team, fans came out swinging. While some celebrated the lineup, others weren’t shy about calling out their concerns, especially about Wade and Haslem sharing the desk.

One fan fired off, “All of them Knick haters🖕🖕🖕.” Well, can’t really blame him. Because we all know that Heat legends and Knicks fans have years of playoff tension. Wade and Haslem’s fierce rivalry with New York in the early 2000s still leaves a bad taste for die-hard Knicks supporters today. Another user added, “Will never be as good as Shaq Chuck Kenny Ernie 😭😭can try their best” Tough, but not surprising. The Inside the NBA crew on TNT is basically untouchable.

What’s your perspective on:

Can Wade and Haslem's professional bond translate into entertaining TV chemistry, or will it fall flat?

Have an interesting take?

One comment read, “Also as long as they become talking heads this is fire”. That’s just fans hoping for entertainment over stiff, boring analysis.  In today’s sports media world, audiences crave lively, personality-driven commentary more than just breaking down pick-and-roll plays every five minutes. Another fan dropped,  “Udonis and Candace are bias and 🚮 analyst”. Well, bias accusations come fast when ex-players cover their former teams on TV. You can’t really stop that. Can you? Both Candace Parker and Udonis Haslem are known for fiercely backing their squads, and some fans worry it’ll skew their objectivity here.

Lastly, someone wrote, “Halsem is not qualified with his horrible takes”. Actually, the thing is, Haslem’s blunt courtside opinions over the years have divided fans regularly. While his leadership on the court was never questioned, his hot takes on basketball debates haven’t always landed well with NBA Twitter.

We all know that NBA analyst desks thrive on banter, inside jokes, and real-deal locker room stories. And this is something that fans aren’t totally convinced this duo can deliver. Still, with the season tipping off in October, everyone’s curious to see whether Wade and Haslem can find that easy rhythm on-camera. For now, though, Heat fans will keep their fingers crossed while the rest of NBA Twitter will wait for the inevitable viral moments ahead.
