The 15-time all-star recently used his Instagram as a medium to heap praise on the high-schooler. As a young player, receiving recognition from a former NBA MVP must surely be validating.

Praise from Kevin Garnett, appreciation for Kendrick

Through his Instagram stories, Garnett shared a video of King Kendrick demonstrating his basketball prowess. It showcased all the buzz regarding this extraordinary kid. From his fearless drives to the basket to his spot-on jumper, Kendrick is an offensive powerhouse for Columbus Northland. The story was captioned, “ayyyeeee yooo, lil homie the truth”.

The hoops page that made the post shared an interesting fact about the young buck. Apparently, Kendrick can shoot from deep with either hand. Very few players actively change hands while shooting a three, putting him in rare company. Larry Legend and Kobe Bean are probably the most famous ambidextrous shooters.

As per a piece covered by Scorebook Live, King Kendrick is a leader. Northland won in the Columbus City League championship game against Africentric, where Kendrick exhibited exceptional skills. His calm mindset in the thrilling 60-58 affair played a substantial role in his team’s victory. 

 The 14-year-old won the crowd over with his 33 points starting as just a freshman on the team. Kendrick scored 10 out of his 33 points in the fourth quarter of the game as he kept his cool to score the final points in the game with two free throws at the very end.

With continued mentorship, training, and nurturing, Kendrick could evolve into a true basketball sensation. The Big Ticket will certainly be following his career as he grows up.
