NBA legend Kobe Bryant was an inspiration to a whole generation of stars with the way he attacked every battle. That was the case with superstar Stephen Curry as well. Even though the two are different in terms of playing style, Curry certainly has that Mamba Mentality. Steph has shared some memorable moments with the Los Angeles Lakers legend as well. So, like most basketball fans, it was extremely hard for him when he heard about the passing of Kobe. The four-time NBA champion recently opened up about it.

It is not every day Bryant praises a young star. But he once had major praise for Curry during his early years in the league and even predicted future domination of the sharpshooter.

Stephen Curry on Kobe Bryant’s passing

Stephen Curry recently made an appearance on the BigBoyTV?where he answered a variety of interesting questions. The topic of discussion revolved around the Golden State Warriors star’s recently released documentary Stephen Curry: Underrated. During the show, the host had some questions about Kobe Bryant as well. In one instance, the host asked Curry whether he remembers where he was and what he was doing when he heard about the demise of the five-time NBA champion.

Steph recounted that he was training with the team when he heard about the unfortunate incident. He said that he was in disbelief and the practice was stopped so that the players can be with their families.

Curry added, “Once it was acknowledged that it actually happened, like you obviously, your heart melts, your tears are flowing,?and it grounds you. And you appreciate life man. Because we’re all just out there hooping having a good time and you realize somebody who ushered in a new generation of basketball left us way too early and obviously his daughter as well and everybody else on the helicopter.”

He also said that it was a very tough moment and that he will forever remember it. The sharpshooter noted that everyone is trying to honor Bryant in any way possible by being competitive, enjoying the moment, etc.

Stephen Curry won the first Kobe Bryant MVP trophy

Kobe Bryant has made 18 All-Star appearances and has won the All-Star MVP award a record four times alongside the legendary Bob Pettit. In honor of Kobe, the league changed the name of the All-Star MVP award to The Kobe Bryant Trophy last year. Notably, Stephen Curry became the first player to win the award. After lifting the trophy, Curry was left speechless and expressed what it means to win it.
