Ten years after retiring from basketball, Allen Iverson spoke about his basketball journey with GQ Sports in an interview. In the interview, Iverson spoke about an incident that happened with Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls.

During his rookie year, twenty-one-year-old Iverson was up against a veteran-rich, stacked Chicago Bulls side. His teammate, Jerry Stackhouse, was repeatedly trash-talking with the Bulls team. Scottie Pippen replied to the trash-talking and said, ?If y?all don?t respect nobody, y?all gonna respect us.??

The young Iverson replied, ?We not gone respect nobody,? and before he could complete the sentence, the Bulls team jumped to the conclusion that ?He don?t respect Michael Jordan?!???

Nonetheless, Iverson told the truth in the interview and provided the entire phrase. ??I was saying we not respecting nobody on the dance floor.?
