While the summer might be coming to an end, its repercussions could be felt for some time. Between the FIBA World Cup, the women’s soccer World Cup, and the World Athletics Championship, sports fans had a lot to sink their teeth into. However, none of these were quite as shocking as the FIBA World Cup. While the sport continues to grow globally, USA and Canada were still heavy favorites. However, neither of them could reach the final. Now, it’s time for fantasy team-ups to begin. One of these fantasies found its way to Shaquille O’Neal.

Shaquille O’Neal – international superstar

While his NBA career is the stuff of legend, O’Neal was already an icon on the international stage. Despite not making the cut for the 1992 Dream Team, the 7-footer would be a part of the succeeding World Championship group in 94.

Soon after, the big man would join Team USA for the 1996 Olympics as well. Both times, the team came away with Gold. However, his experience at the Olympics was less than ideal due to his lack of playing time. As a result, the former Miami Heat star refrained from competing again on the international stage.

But, it seems like the international scene is important to O’Neal again. Due to Team USA’s horrifying exit, fans and critics alike have been all over the team. As per analysts, the team feels lackluster similar to 2004. Perhaps, Gilbert Arenas was right all along.? However, something good could come out of this endeavor.

Sharing on his IG story, the 4x NBA Champion seems all in on a legendary team-up. Featuring bona fide top-10 players in the game today, the graphic showcases all-time greats like LeBron James, Kevin Durant, and Stephen Curry. At the same time, other stars like Devin Booker and Anthony Davis also make the lineup.

Perhaps, that star power is what the team needs after their disappointing end.

The atrocity of the World Cup

Even though France came in as the number 1 ranked team in the competition, their run ended in the group stages itself. As a result, Team USA was the clear favorite for the tournament. Despite lacking star power, the influx of NBA talent looked like adequate compensation.

But, it wasn’t meant to be. Following a shocking defeat at the hands of Germany in the Semis, the USA went to war with the other contender, Canada, for a chance at the Bronze Medal. However, another defeat is all that came to be. Returning home without any medals for the second successive time, Team USA has a lot to think about.

Could a change and a revamped?Dream Team?be the answer?
