Michael Jordan is the epitome of success. Many regard Jordan as the undeniably best player in the history of basketball. While some have used his name to compare his level of skill and influence on other celebrities, Jordan’s name was recently used by a world-renowned director to elevate the work done by Julia Roberts.

After her impressive performance in Leave the World Behind, Julia Roberts received the ultimate honor from her director, as the movie is now turning out to be a massive success.

Sam Esmail, of Mr.Robot fame, said to The Messenger, “She’s (Julia Roberts) the Michael Jordan of acting.” The Pretty Woman actress is widely known as one of the best and most charismatic actresses in the world. From her plethora of award-winning works and nominations, it is not wrong for Esmail to consider Roberts to be the greatest actress in history.

But this also stems from the fact that Esmail had previously worked with Roberts on the show Homecoming, where all 10 episodes were directed by him. So, having seen how talented and expressive Roberts is, Esmail knew exactly who he needed for his new Netflix film. Along with Julia Roberts, Before Sunrise actor Ethan Hawke is also gracing the screen with his presence.

After seeing the reaction the fans had to this mix of two worlds, Jordan’s agent, David Falk, was the one who decided to push Warner Bros. into making a movie that would be an extension of the commercial. The movie was a massive success and made $230 million at the box office.

But this is nothing compared to what Julia Roberts was able to accomplish with Pretty Woman. The movie went on to have a total collection of $463 million, making it one of the most successful movies at the time.
