The Lakers need a superstar – that’s what the NBA veterans and analysts have advised. The Lakers faced a disappointing defeat against the Denver Nuggets. Now, the Lakers are in need of a coach after firing Darvin Ham. In simple words, the Lakers desperately need a straw to clutch at. Amidst the tough times, former Los Angeles Lakers player Nick Young gave a valuable suggestion that could help LeBron James and his squad.

During his latest appearance on the Sloane Knows Podcast, Young was asked what decisions he would make to fix the Lakers’ offseason if he were the GM of the franchise. In response, Young suggested that he would bring in a superstar who could lead the team. He stated that ‘King James’ and Anthony Davis needed another strong and skilled player who could help them. He also mentioned some players he thought would be a good fit such as Donovan Mitchell, Paul George, and more.

“I’d definitely make some trades…I’d try to get another superstar on the team to help Bron and AD, somebody they can rely on. Donovan Mitchell, Paul George or even go back and try to get one of them old stars like KD or something just to be fun,” the 38-year-old said on the podcast.

Although, he admitted that it would be quite difficult to bring those players in. But, it isn’t just the former Lakers star that has advised a revamped roster for the current Lakers team but also a certain former Boston Celtics has opined on the same.

Paul Pierce dishes out valuable advice to former rival Los Angeles Lakers

Young isn’t the first one to suggest so. There are rumors about the Lakers’ interest in drafting ‘King James’ eldest Bronny James. NBA legends, media, and fans who are seemingly disappointed with Bronny’s decision to enter the NBA draft were even more agitated. Fans haven’t exactly been gentle while criticizing the 19-year-old on social media.

One of them is James’ former rival, Paul Pierce. The retired NBA player stated that while James is becoming a free agent, the Lakers would like to keep the star on their team. He suggested that, in a bid to do so, they would draft Bronny and, in return, lose their chance at a championship.

As suggested by Young before, Pierce also believes that Mitchell could be the best addition to their team. “I don’t see them getting better unless they trade for Donovan Mitchell maybe but I just don’t see LeBron got to become the number two guy now and you have to find a number one guy like cuz I don’t think AD (Anthony Davis) is a number one guy,” Pierce said on the KG Certified. What is your take on this?
