Veteran NCAA coach Bob Knight’s legendary journey has come to an end after the 83-year-old passed at his home. Having coached the Indiana Hoosiers for 29 years, Knight brought light to world-famous talents like Isiah Thomas, Steve Alford, and many more basketball greats. An unsung story of Knight was the one time when he coached Chicago Bulls legend Michael Jordan.

The 3-time NCAA champion disliked the way Jordan passed the ball in mid-air. However later, the two got into a deal. If Jordan ever turned the ball over by passing it to his teammates in mid-air, then he must only pass the ball with both his feet set thereon. Well, according to reports, His Airness never turned the ball over and stuck to his methods. 

How did Bob Knight react to this?

According to former NBA star Chris Mullins, it changed Bob Knight’s perspective on coaching and following fundamentals.

The retired veteran shared in an interview, “He never turned the ball over. He was that good. He actually turned Bobby Knight’s thinking. You have to make exceptions for the great ones.”
