It is the oldest story in the book. Two guys separated because a girl comes in between them. In the case of Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen, at least the woman didn’t come directly in between them. However, that hasn’t stopped fans of the two from quarreling over it. Moreover, Scottie’s fiery comments regarding Jordan further incited the wrath of the crowd. And, unfortunately, the brunt of the harshness came down on the common denominator, Larsa Pippen.

A staunch Michael Jordan supporter, Stephen A. Smith held nothing back as he ripped into the girlfriend of Jordan’s son.

Stephen A. Smith has a major issue with Larsa Pippen

The issues between Michael and Scottie Pippen have been piling up for a while now. Ever since The Last Dance documentary, things were tense between the two, with Pippen reportedly being upset over his portrayal. However, a lot of issues might permeate due to his ex-wife’s beau, Marcus Jordan.

MJ vehemently said “No” when asked about his approval of the two’s relationship. On the latest episode of the Separation Anxiety podcast, the two discussed the issue. While Marcus laughed off his father’s response, Larsa had a completely different tune.

Stephen A, a big fan of Mike, did not hold back when calling out the former Mrs. Pippen. “Traumatized over what? How could you possibly think…Why would Michael Jordan want his son with his ex-teammate, a person he called the greatest teammate he ever had, why would he want his son with that man’s ex-wife?” 

Stephen A made his point using Larsa’s own words about how the whole interaction was awkward. Even Scottie hasn’t had it easy as he’s constantly lashed out about Jordan in the last few months. About a month ago, Stephen A had some strong opinions about the Chicago Bulls legend as well.

Scottie Pippen receives criticism for his Michael Jordan take

Stephen A laid into it after Scottie’s comments. Pippen, on a podcast with Stacey King, claimed that Michael was a horrible teammate. However, Smith did not take kindly to those words. He immediately made a point of Scottie’s mediocre names in the first couple of years of his career.

Then, he took it a step further, calling him a “damn fool” and an “ignorant dude”. Further, Smith claimed that the comments were made from a place of envy and bitterness. He highlighted the fame that MJ has gathered, as compared to Scottie. He asked, “Is it personal? Is it just about basketball or is it about his son dating your ex-wife?”

While the union of Marcus and Larsa has been beautiful for the couple, auxiliary parts around them have seen a strain in their relationship. Hopefully, the legendary Chicago duo can mend their relationship and Stephen A can be a happy camper once more.
