Smacking the plate right out of Shaq’s hands, he yelled, “Man, put that pizza down, fat boy!” As the 4x NBA Champion looked on in shock, he turned to the camera with a pinpoint expression. Recording the entire proceeding was his good friend and ‘retired DJ’ Ro Parrish.

During his time in the NBA, the whispers began to grow louder. The biggest cause of concern and reason for his downfall was his increasing weight. While he was always a big fellow, Shaquille O’Neal eclipsed the 400-pound mark after retirement.

As a result, even getting up the stairs was a chore for him, as he himself claims. As a result, extra care and attention towards his diet and nutrition became of prime importance. On his journey, the big man plans to reach a goal of 320 pounds.

So far, he’s already made humongous strides and is at 351 pounds. As he continues to turn back time and get closer to his ideal weight, it has been a beautiful journey for the icon.
