Rattled JJ Redick Turns On-Court Confrontation Into Hilarious Twitter Battle Amidst ESPN Debut: “The Worst Type of…”
NBA podcasts have quickly become the norm for basketball conversation. Among them, one of the first and best remains The Old Man and the Three. However, it wasn’t the podcast itself that went viral on Twitter. Instead, it was a “heckling” interaction involving JJ Redick and his crew member, wholesome to the core, that took Twitter by storm.
Later on, the Duke product, who faced his share of scrutiny and fan vitriol at the collegiate level, would take to Twitter to continue with the banter. Exiting from the tunnel after commentary duties, the podcast head of production Jason Gallagher called out JJ Redick saying, “Interstellar sucks.” While Redick took a step forward, hearing the peculiar comment made him double back and approach the individual.
Claiming to turn around just for him, it was the ingenuity of the heckle by his head of production, coupled with the ongoing ESPN bit of Redick dressing like a Hollywood superstar had the sharpshooter in splits. Gallagher would call out the former LA Clipper. “This is how you heckle @jj_redick”

Never one to shy away from continuing the hilarity, Redick would respond with, “This is the worst type of fan behavior @NBA”. Furthermore, Redick also responded to Gallagher on Instagram, saying, “Jason and I are gonna have a long talk on Monday with HR.” All in all, the entire interaction was wholesome while still being hilarious to the core.

As for the ESPN bit, with the season winding down, JJ should be back to being a regular appearance on live TV.

During his short tenure with the ESPN team, the former Orlando Magic veteran has been a highlight of their programming. Whether it be First Take with Stephen A. Smith or his back-and-forth with Mad Dog Russo, JJ always brings entertainment with him.
But what makes him truly special is his sober analysis of the game and narratives. While the dialogue often dissolves into hyperbole and accusations, Redick has been a far more measured on-air personality.
