Usually, NBA players don’t enjoy the same success post-retirement. However, there are exceptions to that case. Whether becoming a business mogul like Michael Jordan or the Dwyane Wade route, some do maintain their winning ways. Yet, one of the best examples of an NBA athlete’s post-basketball career being successful is Shaquille O’Neal. Since retiring, Shaq has become a mainstream name. Whether it is as a media member, comedian, or DJ, O’Neal has found his footing in the entertainment industry.

Though Shaq and Charles Barkley always know how to capture the people’s attention, it was a different group that saw the 7-footer start a viral trend.

Artists from around the world have a “smacking” new trend

In his latest genius idea, the big man is taking care of his gigantic frame. While Victor Wembanyama captures the attention of the NBA world, Shaq has always caught eyes with his size. Even WWE legends are in awe of the big man.

So, it came as no surprise when the 51-year-old used his frame as a marketing tool. In a hilarious trend first started by Grammy-Award-nominee Steve Aoki, celebs are recording themselves trying to “smack” Big Diesel.

Due to his gigantic frame, normal humans have to take a full-fledged jump just to reach his head, making the entire bit even more hilarious. But, the Los Angeles Lakers legend has left no stone unturned. He’s continuing to play along, acting mock-annoyed at the physical abuse.

Since then, more names from the entertainment industry have joined the party, including his millionaire son Myles O’Neal. Further, Aoki and Myles have seen some international flavor added to their trend as well. 41-year-old Australian jazz expert, Timothy Trumpet, also made the 4-time Champion a victim.

Thankfully, the entire ordeal is a viral trend. Otherwise, as Barkley knows, the big man isn’t afraid to get his hands dirty.

As Shaq cut away from the regular broadcast to wish his daughter a Happy Birthday, the Chuckster chimed in.

Commenting on his children’s names, Chuck was trying to be funny. However, his comments irked O’Neal the wrong way and he immediately threatened the Philadelphia/Phoenix legend.

Even as Kenny tried to move the show along, Diesel?could be heard grumbling.

Thankfully, the two have moved on from the incident and remain thick as thieves. After recently lighting up the UFC world and now a viral trend, it seems like retirement life is suiting Shaquille O’Neal.
