Charles Barkley is known by several names that highlight his larger-than-life persona. After the much-needed health-oriented decision, Sir Charles took offense to a specific nickname and urged fans to refrain from using it. During the conversation on The Steam Room podcast, the former Phoenix Suns star stated that he no longer likes his legendary nickname, the Round Mound of Rebound.
The Round Mound, once a fitting title for his robust playing style and his massive size, seems to have lost its charm and relevance to the legend. The Philadelphia 76ers legend said, “Don’t be calling me Round Mound. First of all, I’m not Round Mound anymore. But ease up on the Round Mound.” The 60-year-old has a fair reason for taking offense to that name.

Back in his playing days, Barkley always struggled to stay in shape and that remained the case post-retirement as well with the Chuckster facing health issues because of his weight. Neither he had any motivation to work out nor did his diet help. It took several criticisms from his frenemy, Shaquille O’Neal, nudges from his wellwishers, and notably a warning from his doctor to make changes in his diet.
Following this, the legend has continued to work out and maintain a good physique. In some of his latest interviews, Sir Charles shared that he has already shed more than 60 lbs over the past couple of years.
