33 YO Marcus Admits Having a “Target on His Back” Because of Michael Jordan

Following an act as stellar as Michael Jordan is not easy. No one knows it better than his 33-year-old Marcus Jordan. Marcus recently talked about the pressure of carrying the Jordan last name, especially when trying his luck in the world of basketball.

He was recently in conversation with social media influencer CJ Sykes on his Instagram Live. Sykes asked Marcus about his experience of playing basketball and his love for the game.

Marcus said, “I naturally had a love for basketball”. The 33-year-old also said that his father was extremely supportive of his basketball journey from the very beginning. Although Marcus couldn’t do much in his career as a basketball player, he is grateful for the way things began and where he reached. He said, “When I went to UCF and played on my basketball scholarship, it was all because I had my own love for the game”. Marcus also revealed that he and his brother bonded over their shared love for the game of basketball.

The 33-year-old then talked about feeling the pressure of being Michael Jordan’s son, the man who is widely regarded as the greatest basketball player ever. He said, “There’s always certain pressures that you feel as a kid, growing up, and I always tried to channel that energy into…driving myself and try to be the best player that I can be. You know, when you are Michael Jordan’s son, you kinda have a target on your back”.

Marcus said that being MJ’s son made people look at him differently and that is something that motivated him to push himself more towards being dedicated to the game. At age 33, Marcus has bid farewell to the game, but, he has picked up several ventures and projects that require his time and attention. One of the reasons why he did this interview was to promote his upcoming show, The Traitors season 2 where he will be competing against Larsa Pippen among other people.

Marcus said that he is very excited about the show and urged people to watch it on Peacock. The reality show will feature one of the most talked about couples of last year Larsa and Marcus and they will be competing for a prize money of $250,000. Apart from the money, both of them have said that they really enjoyed the experience of being on the show and would like to run it back if given an opportunity.
