Tyrese Haliburton’s ‘Elite’ Combination of Skills Has Paul Pierce Singing His Praises

The young Indiana Pacers team is currently ranked 7th in the Eastern Conference. However, they are one of the most offensively gifted teams in the current NBA season. In their ‘In-Season’ NBA tournament win against the Atlanta Hawks, they outscored the Hawks 157-152 in the highest-scoring game in the NBA season so far. 

In a recent episode of “SHOWTIME Basketball”, Kevin Garnett hypes the Indiana Pacers after their recent ‘In-Season’ tournament match against the Hawks. Paul Pierce also talks about the Pacers’ point guard, Tyrese Haliburton.

The Boston Celtics legend Kevin Garnett says to Paul Pierce, “Bro are you watching the Indiana Pacers? I know you don’t want to hear this sh*t but…” Paul Pierce then interjects, “No I did watch them. Kevin Garnett explains, “Sh*t boy…you know we was talking about the teams you don’t want to see? You will see these boys. They got like…they got like 4-5 ‘killers’ that you probably ain’t even looking for.

Former Boston Celtics star Paul Pierce then states, “You know what, I’m telling you this…I’ve never seen and I’m trying to pick… I’ve never seen at the point guard, this combination of shooting and passing.” He further explains, “You know what I’m saying, the way he shoots and scores at the point guard, is elite. He’s an elite scorer and an elite passer.” Coming from Pierce, that seems to be high praise for the 6’5 Pacers point guard.

 Tyrese Haliburton’s NBA performance

Currently, in his 4th NBA season, Tyrese Haliburton was drafted as the 12th overall pick in the 2020 NBA draft by the Sacramento Kings. However, he got traded to the Indiana Pacers in 2022. In his 2nd year as an Indian Pacers point guard, Haliburton has made a huge impact, especially in this season. He has averaged a phenomenal 20.7 points, 10.4 assists, 3.7 rebounds, and 1.6 steals per game this season and continues to show no signs of slowing down.
