His interests have taken him from affordable sneakers to the President of a sneaker company. On the other hand, his other investments include forays into music, entertainment, fast food, and even Esports.

It is that last avenue that has the Los Angeles Lakers legend promoting a new initiative by 2K Sports. Coincidentally, it also holds ties to his recent acquisition of Reebok as President.

Shaquille O’Neal partners with the old and the new for 2K

The latest in Shaq’s investment lines comes in the form of a partnership with 2K Sports. The game development company has been the NBA’s partner for its annual games since the turn of the century. Due to their innovative nature, the team is bringing something extremely new to the table. Moreover, it seems like they have two bona fide icons of the sport on board as well.

From the 4x Champion’s Twitter feed, he says, “Big news, folks! #NBA2K24ArcadeEdition just dropped exclusively on Apple Arcade. You can team up with NBA Legends, including my man @alleniverson, and win fans and endorsements. It’s Your Court, Your Way.” He was kind enough to also add a download link for the same.

With basketball legends like O’Neal and AI on board, the latest development by the sports gaming company seems like a surefire hit. Only once further reviews are out can an informed opinion be made about their latest pull.

For the time being, the game looks fresh and exciting. With the incredible pairing of Shaq & AI already setting the sneaker world on fire, could they do the same for 2K?

The two legends long held an association with Reebok. In fact, when Shaq first came in, he was seen as the company’s answer to Michael Jordan and Nike. Similarly, Allen Iverson was the next domino to fall in 1996. Unfortunately, the trio could not work out and take over the sporting world completely. Eventually, Reebok fizzled out of the basketball market.

However, in recent times, Authentic Sports Goods, the parent brand behind Reebok, has made it a mission to refocus its efforts on basketball. As a result, the two NBA legends, still in close association with the group, took over as major players for their re-emergence. While Shaq assumes the role of “President of Basketball”,?Iverson is going to act as Vice President.
