As Mahomes himself says, “When you play…Tom Brady, you have to make sure you really keep the pressure on”. And, like always, he found a way. Making a long rush to the right corner, Mahomes made a deft hop pass to his receiver, scoring the touchdown. In the first 2 years of his career, Mahomes earned all imaginable plaudits. In year 1, MVP, while breaking a series of records. Year 2 culminated in a Super Bowl, where the Chiefs faced 10+ point deficits in all three playoff games. A display of true mental strength.

But, for a great comeback, there must also be a great fall. In year 3, the Chiefs lost the Super Bowl to the GOAT Tom Brady, and Mahomes turned in a subpar performance. The next season, he turned in his worst year to date, and questions arose about his playstyle. The departure of Tyreek Hill raised further doubts.

However, turning in a spectacular season, Mahomes went on to win his second MVP, along with a Super Bowl. Not only did he become the first quarterback in the last 25 years to achieve both in the same year, but he also made Charles Barkley lose a ton of money.
