Even though the two are quite visibly the most popular sports in the country, the NBA and NFL worlds don’t often crossover. While there might be a rare celebration in common, usually it’s just players attending each other’s games. However, it could be different. Whether it is Shaquille O’Neal being phenomenal at football or LeBron James almost joining the Dallas Cowboys, possibilities remain endless. However, we saw our first true taste of an epic crossover this week. While his return to the gridiron found much fanfare, Tom Brady‘s run on the basketball court went truly viral.

Tom Brady has the skills of a basketball legend

Brady poises his arms, he waits, he flings it across, and he…Shoots? That can’t be right. Except, that was exactly the case over the week. After thoroughly dominating the sport of American Football, Tom, along with his son Jack put up some shots at a basketball gym. While he’s been on the receiving end of criticism for not following his dad’s footsteps, both father and son looked sharp on the hardwood. Raining down threes – ala Stephen Curry – the two looked like practiced veterans. As a result, they even made a few fans.

Both Shareef and Shaqir O’Neal shared a clip of the Brady bunch hooping.

While Shareef is taking over at the G-League, Shaqir is beginning to make a name for himself at TSU. But, both brothers also gave the flowers to the NFL legend.

As Tom nailed down three-pointers in quick succession, the brothers put up individual stories of the 7-time Champion in action.

Coincidentally, Shareef found himself in the same conversation as Jack earlier in the week. The debate raged around whether celebrity kids should follow in their dad’s footsteps. But, judging by the bond both father-son duos share, it’s safe to say that is the least of their concern.

However, this basketball run wasn’t the only Brady activity to catch the family’s attention.

Shaquille O’Neal and co in awe of TB-12’s return

After finally retiring last offseason, the league leader in passing yards all-time made his return to football. However, this time around, as an analyst. But, it didn’t take long for TB to don the iconic jersey he sported for nearly 18 years.

Shrugging off his jacket, Brady revealed his New England Patriots jersey underneath. As he took a lap around his old stomping grounds, the crowd came unglued. Even Shaqir was a big fan of the entire experience, putting it up on his Instagram.

While he would go on to win another Super Bowl with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, it’s his 6 with the Patriots that truly solidified his status as the all-time greatest. Suffice it to say, wherever Tom Brady goes, attention follows.

With the football season underway and rumblings of a comeback, we know for sure the O’Neal household will be closely watching.
