New Orleans Pelicans forward Brandon Ingram thought he had just won the game for his side when he hit a jumper in the final second of the game against Utah Jazz on Thursday.

The score read 122-121 with just 0.2 seconds left on the clock and Utah Jazz coming with the possession after a time out.

The reactions after Ingram’s shot felt like the game had already finished and the final 0.2 seconds felt like a mere formality. However, things took a turn when Pelicans rookie Jaxson Hayes fouled Rudy Gobert. The drama was yet to unfold as the Utah big man managed to convert just one of the two free throws and the game was forced into overtime.

An absolute thriller of a game came to an end with New Orleans Pelicans forward Brandon Ingram netted a jumper and the clock read 0.2 seconds left.

The Pelicans eventually managed six points more than Utah in OT as the final score read 138-132.

Brandon Ingram finished with career-high figures

Although a 12th position in the Western Conference with a 16-26 record does not look great currently, the future for the Pelicans looks promising. Ingram, 22, finished with a career-high 49 points on Wednesday scoring 15/25 field goals. He also added eight rebounds and six assists.
