The trade rumors clouding over Victor Oladipo are taking a different turn with every passing day. Initially, it was believed that Oladipo was looking to part ways with the Indiana Pacers. However, recently such rumors have taken a back seat.
NBA Hall of Famer Isiah Thomas revealed that he had a conversation with Oladipo regarding his future.
“I think Oladipo is going to have a great year you know, when he’s healthy… I was worried about him when he came back this year because I didn’t think he was healthy enough and you know, as an elder in the league I called him and I texted him.

“And I just said, ‘I know you’re anxious, but make sure that you’re really healthy because you’ve got a great career ahead of you.’
“And I hope during this period of time he can fully heal, because when he’s fully healed and healthy he’s one of the best backcourt players in the game.”
Over the last few seasons, Oladipo has struggled with lingering issues. He was sidelined for most of the 2019-20 season due to injury troubles. Although he returned just in time for the Playoffs, he was far from 100%.
As a result, the Pacers faced another early elimination from the postseason. That led to rumors suggesting Oladipo’s future is uncertain with the franchise. But with a new Head Coach, Oladipo might wait before making any rash decisions.

What’s next for Pacers star Victor Oladipo?
In his last healthy season, Oladipo enjoyed a great year. He made the NBA All-Star team and finished the regular season with 18.8 points per game. Moving forward, he has a big decision to make- whether to stay with the Pacers or move to an instant championship contender team.

Moreover, him being injury-prone will only hinder his value if he suffers another major injury in the 2020-21 season. Meaning the Pacers have just 1 year to make a decision about him.

If Oladipo decides to leave the team, it would be better for the Pacers to trade him. This way they will get something in return for the two-time All-Star. But we will not have a clear view about the same until the next season kicks off.
