Bucks’ Giannis Antetokounmpo Furious at Hornets Player Following Dangerous Trip Attempt

The best players in the league always get fouled the most. When there is no fair way to stop them, opposing players resort to fouling in an attempt to stop them. This is what the Charlotte Hornets were doing to Giannis Antetokounmpo last night.
The Greek Freak had 29 points and 12 rebounds as he led the Bucks to a 14-point win. But the Hornets players weren’t too amused to see Giannis dominating them.
In the second quarter, Hornets sophomore PJ Washington tried to post up against Giannis. But going up against the reigning DPOY is no joke, as Giannis kept pressure and got him off balance. He later stole the ball from Washington and was about to start a fastbreak, when the Hornets player tried to trip him from behind.

It was an ugly foul, one which could have led to a potential injury. Giannis somehow avoided a nasty fall and just warned Washington with a finger point. Later, in the press conference, he spoke about this incident.
He said, “I feel like (it was on purpose). His leg came with full force. I didn’t see him, I haven’t watched the play. So I was upset because it’s a dangerous play… If you come at me, I’m going to come at you. Especially if I think you’re doing it on purpose.”

Last night’s victory was their 38th win of the season. That puts them 3.5 games from the first seed Nets, who are outdoing the Bucks this year. For two seasons, Milwaukee has dominated the league, but this season their dominance is likely to come to an end.
That’s why it was an important win for them, since it helps them stay in the race. It was also significant for them, since the Bucks had lost their previous two games of the season against the Hornets. One-off losses are forgiven, but to lose a season series against a team like the Hornets would be embarrassing for the Bucks.

Giannis led from the front as usual, as he continued his push for a third consecutive MVP. He will become the first player since Hall of Famer Larry Bird to win three MVPs in a row if he wins it this season. But his focus will be on to lead the team to success. He has had a lot of individual success recently, so his aim will now only be to lead the Bucks to a title.
