This morning Detroit Pistons announced a major change in the head office of its organization. After two years of not having an official general manager, Troy Weaver is filling that position for the Pistons. He was an executive for the Oklahoma City Thunder, and now, an official virtual press conference next week will declare him as part of this franchise.

Back in 2018, Pistons had fired their president and general manager and since then Ed Stefanski took these roles without any legal statement. He has been handling the team dynamics, but the organization was constantly in search of someone to fill these shoes.

Post the agreement, Troy had immense to promise to the franchise. “It’s an honor for me to join a franchise with the history and tradition of the Detroit Pistons,” Weaver told in a team statement. “I’m excited for the challenge of building this team into a consistent winner and assembling the pieces to compete at a very high level.
