“Don’t Care if That’s Michael Jordan”: Nets Aggressive Strategy to Guard Blazers’ Damian Lillard

Blazers’ driving force, Damian Lillard, has been relentless in Orlando this season. And yet again, he carried his team to the finish line in a crucial match against the Brooklyn Nets. Blazers’ have occupied the eighth seed for now, which was only possible by some highly impressive plays by Lillard.

Blazers won 134-133 over the Nets with Lillard bagging another 42 points in this match. He continues to dominate the game after all those insane scores so far in the bubble.

It was a bit more than a minute remaining to the buzzer when Lillard stole the ball from Caris LeVert, known to be one of the best defensive plays of the night. And to complete it, CJ McCollum scored a 2-point jumper to lead the game by four points.

Trail Blazers are all set to watch their chances of making it to the playoffs from the eighth seed. Memphis Grizzlies also gathered a big win over the Bucks the same night and increased their possibilities as well. The Phoenix Suns, despite being undefeated in the Bubble, are unfortunately out of the playoff run.

Brooklyn made efforts to restrict the strong force of Damian Lillard last night

For the Nets, Caris LeVert was appreciated for a competitive performance after he added 37 points to his side. Moreover, in a video, we can see Garrett Temple strategizing defense with Jeremiah Martin to stop Lillard. It turned out in vain, but it definitely displayed the intensity of the game.

“If Damian Lillard dribbling up, you guard him. I don’t care if that’s CJ McCollum, I don’t care if that’s Michael Jordan over there. You pick him up.” Garrett told Jeremiah during the timeout.
