“Its a Long Road”: Lakers Star Center Reflects on His Journey to NBA Finals

The Lakers got a setback in the third game of the Finals series against Miami Heat, but they continue to lead 2-1. As they move closer to the championship title, Lakers’ veteran center Dwight Howard highlights the long road to the Finals.

Lakers have been tremendous this season after acquiring the likes of Anthony Davis and Dwight Howard last summer. The lineup stands tall with star players and a bunch of young talent, including Kyle Kuzma and Alex Caruso. The two developed their game to a new level under the guidance of the King, LeBron James.

We also witnessed a significant growth in Davis as he played sufficient season alongside Bron, creating one of the best duos in NBA history.

As far as the entire team is concerned, Lakers have dominated the Western Conference and are now doing the same in the postseason. They faced quite a tough time in Game 3 of the NBA Finals a day before, but look to bounce back from that.

Howard, 34, has been in the league for 16 years now. This is only the second time he has appeared in the Finals, last time being with the Orlando Magic in 2009. This season seems more promising, with an incredible set of players surrounding him. “It’s always a blessing to be back in the Finals, it’s a long road to get here,” Howard told. Not everybody gets a chance to play in the Finals. This is my second time in the Finals and I have been in the league for 16 years.”

“So, it shows that it doesn’t matter how great of a talent you are, it’s one of the hardest things to accomplish. You got to stay always focused and locked in. Always stay humble and keep your eyes on the prize no matter how long it takes to get there,” Howard said.

Well, it definitely is a tough journey to the Finals. Lakers stand immensely close to the title, but can they successfully get past a Jimmy Butler-led Miami Heat?
