The Last Dance has really gotten into the finest details of Michael Jordan’s time with Chicago Bulls. Several controversial instances came up as well during interviews with the legend and other stars associated with him.

Reportedly, people willingly lent their house for shooting as well. Jason Hehir, director of the docuseries, recently revealed the only two NBA players who declined an interview.

On ‘The Dan Patrick Show’, when asked if Karl Malone declined to be interviewed, Hehir replied with a blatant “Yes”. Karl spent the major part of his career playing for Utah Jazz and came up against Jordan twice in NBA finals.

Malone was a crucial part of the last two episodes of the documentary. Chicago Bulls were up against Utah Jazz in two consecutive finals and the 1997 MVP was Jazz’s most important player. He was a competitor for Michael in various ways.

Jason knew that Malone would be a ‘tough sell’. “He declined through another party. We asked him multiple times. Believe me, we exhausted just about every avenue. We started in January 2018 with that one because we knew he was gonna be a tough sell.”

Another NBA Player also didn’t reply Jason Hehir for being interviewed

Karl wasn’t the only one to decline the offer. His Utah Jazz teammate, Bryon Russell also did the same. But Hehir says he respects the fact that maybe he didn’t want to answer the questions they were going to throw at him.

“That was just a no response,” Hehir told Patrick. “Out of respect for Bryon, I think he knew the questions we were going to ask and maybe he didn’t want to go there.”
