Some players are ageless. That resonates with two great players in basketball, LeBron James and Sue Bird. Both are aiming for their fourth title this season in NBA and WNBA, respectively. Almost nearing their 40s, and the two are still breaking records endlessly.

Recently, in the opening game of the WNBA finals, Seattle Storm took a 1-0 lead in the series against Las Vegas Aces.

Sue Bird earned another record to her name in league history. She had 16 assists by the end, which accounts for the highest in a WNBA Playoffs game. Moreover, it is her career-high 16 assists in a single game.

Even though Bird had dropped only two points in the entire game, she didn’t seem to need those numbers after those many assists. Breanna Stewart was Seattle’s highest scorer, with 37 points that led to a 93-80 victory for the team.

After Bird’s 12th assist in the game, she carries another record with most assists in the Finals game.

LeBron James says “keep going” to Sue Bird after she posts another record

NBA’s assist king, LeBron James lauded the three-time WNBA champion for breaking records in her 17th season in the league. Bron added an Instagram story congratulating Sue Bird on this feat. The message read, “Who said records couldn’t be broken in your 17th season????? Keep going. We all we got. Lol. Congrats!!”

Sue reverted back to LeBron’s message with, “I feel seen. Thank you! Back to you.”

The two legends are going strong even today after playing so many seasons. They have been tremendous in their own ways and dominated the league for years. And now, as a young set of players are seeking their prime in the league, Bron and Bird never seem old.

Sue, 39, was drafted by Seattle back in 2002 and since been a destructive force against her opponents. As she moves towards another title in her career, how many more records are going to get broken?
