Rudy Gobert Apologetic for Not Taking Coronavirus ‘Seriously’

Looks like French Basketball star, Rudy Gobert has finally understood the gravity of the situation in hands. Utah Jazz star in the recent video uploaded to the NBA said he wished he had taken the virus seriously. In the video, Rudy thanked all the health care staff of Utah and Oklahoma City. He further advised people to wash their hands, to not touch their faces and avoid unnecessary social contact. He further gave an update on his health and said he has been feeling a little better every single day.

Notably, Rudy Gobert’s positive test of Coronavirus led to the suspension of the NBA, for an indefinite time. After his positive test, two other NBA stars also got positive tested for COVID-19. This infamous list now includes Rudy’s teammate Denvon Mitchell and Philadelphia 76ers’ Christian Wood. Allegedly, both have been in contact with Rudy.

Rudy Gobert ‘unfunny’ jokes
But the criticism which Rudy faced was when he pranked about Coronavirus in a press conference, prior to getting positive tested for Coronavirus. Rudy touched all microphones and recorders of journalists who were present there mocking the novel Coronavirus.
Later, ESPN’s Woj also confirmed the ‘frustration‘ regarding Rudy’s behavior inside Utah’s locker room. According to him, “The Jazz are fortunate that they don’t have to get back together and start playing games again right now. There is a lot of work to do to repair relationships…there’s a lot of frustration with Gobert.”

To backtrack on his prank, Gobert then decided to help those in need. He thus, donated more than $500,000 to assist people affected by the virus and related closures. He said he is giving $200,000 to part-time employees of the Vivint Smart Home Arena in Salt Lake City whose jobs were affected by the halt in NBA season.
