Warriors’ Steph Curry Excited to See Kevin Durant Healthy Again Ahead of 2020-21 Season

Kevin Durant and Steph Curry are back this NBA season, and fans are excited all around. The two former teammates have been out of action due to respective injuries but have now recovered ahead of the start of the new NBA season.

Durant and Curry last played together in the 2019 NBA Finals against the Toronto Raptors. Durant came back from an injury, but then hurt his Achilles during the game. That injury ruled him out for the 2019-20 NBA season. In free agency, Durant left the Golden State Warriors.

Steph Curry started the 2019-20 NBA season healthy. However, he suffered an arm injury during the season that ruled him out for most of the year. By the time he recovered, the Warriors had the worst record in the NBA and nowhere near playoff contention.

Shortly after Curry’s return, the NBA season was suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic. When the NBA season resumed in the bubble, the Warriors did not participate, as they had no mathematical chance to reach the playoffs.

Steph Curry has recovered and is raring to go this season. After last season, he and the Warriors will be determined to prove that the dynasty is not over. However, he will not have his shooting partner in Klay Thompson, who endured another career-ending injury in the offseason.

Durant will be taking the court for the first time as a member of the Brooklyn Nets. He joined the Nets in 2019 with his close friend, Kyrie Irving. The Nets are considered favorites to emerge from the Eastern Conference to the NBA Finals.

Steph Curry spoke to the media about how it feels to see Kevin Durant healthy and facing his former Warriors’ teammate. Curry is just happy to see Durant healthy again, and the league and fans will be lucky to have him back.

Curry said, “I’m just happy we can talk about KD being healthy. And the opportunity for that to happen is there… You think about it from the NBA’s perspective, obviously, there is a lot of storylines there, and a lot of excitement. The list of guys that were hurt last year that are coming back, it’s pretty special man. Good time to be an NBA fan all the way around.”

NBA fans have been waiting for a long time to see Kevin Durant and Steph Curry healthy. And they will finally get that opportunity to see them on opening day, when Durant and the Nets take on his former team – Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors.
