Well, would you want to watch the 00’s Lakers up against the 90s Bulls? It would have been quite a contest for sure. Dominantly it will be Kobe-Shaq and MJ-Scottie locking horns. A tough one definitely but it seems like former Lakers star Magic Johnson has chosen sides. Very conveniently Magic places Kobe-Shaq duo above the latter without any hesitation.

It’s the Lakers vs Bulls!

Shaquille O’Neal had made a statement saying that Shaq-Kobe Lakers could have beaten the Jordan Bulls in a 7-game series. In a podcast on ‘Lunchtime with Roggin and Rodney’, Magic Johnson was asked to comment on this. Magic was very clear and he said, “I think Shaq would have made the difference. We all know that Kobe and Michael will cancel each other out.”

While we draw a comparison between the two epic teams during their prime time, their game hooked up the audience in their respective eras. In their 90s, Bulls were at the peak with Michael Jordan’s legacy. MJ and Scottie Pippen won six NBA championships for the Bulls together with their resistance. They built a duo that bashed the opponents on the court. On the other hand, Kobe-Shaq also had their time to show excellence in the game but their off-court feud resulted in a different scenario. The duo won back-to-back three championships for Lakers until O’Neal moved to Miami Heat.

Magic Johnson says Shaq is the ‘X factor’

On the podcast, Magic chuckled to this question and he sounded so sure that the Lakers could have easily thrashed the Jordan Bulls. “One thing about Kobe, he was not gonna give in to anybody. I don’t care who it was,” he continued, “But the X factor…We have to remember that the Bulls had no great defenders. What Shaq would have done to all those guys. Oh my goodness! It wouldn’t have been fair.”

Magic added to why he supports Shaq’s statement is because of the role players in Lakers of the 00s. The Lakers made a better team and probably Bulls just depended on Jordan and his pair smasher, Scottie Pippen. “One guy Scottie Pippen. But see Scottie couldn’t do what Shaq could do.”

No doubt the legends will be out there doing their jobs but the fans would definitely go insane over the idea of Lakers vs Bulls in their prime time. Johnson also said, “It would have been fun to see them.”
