“I was at the end of the bench with my head down,” Brown narrated. “And he sent a voice message through my strength coach over the phone like, ‘You better pick your motherf**k*** head up.’ He was cursing me out. He was like, ‘You’ve got to carry yourself a certain way.’ So he told me to pick my head up and fix my body language, right f**k*** now.”

Kevin Garnett is an inspiration for the young Celtics players

Kevin Garnett has been a magnificent player for the Celtics and even won a championship back in 2008. He played as part of the ‘Big Three’ which also included Paul Pierce and Ray Allen. Popularly known as the ‘Big Ticket’ for his dunking ability, Garnett was part of 15 All-Star games in his career.

The young players of Celtics, like Jaylen Brown, also draw immense inspiration from the master himself. The 23-year-old Celtics guard admits that he is chasing Garnett in Boston.

“(He’s) somebody I’m chasing here in Boston, he was the last person to win a championship,” he said. “That’s something I would like to do while I’m here with the Celtics. I’m definitely inspired by Kevin Garnett. I think we’re totally two different people, we play two different positions, but I would like to model my approach after his, and hopefully, we will down the road be looked at as similar.”

Boston Celtics are third in the NBA standings of this season. Looking to the season comeback, they seem to be tough competitors for the leading Milwaukee Bucks. Celtics’ starting five is said to be one of the strongest in the league with stars like Jayson Tatum and Kemba Walker. Let’s see their progress in Orlando.
