Known for its massive global viewership, the show is now facing the departure of a prominent NFL legend who has been an integral part of the program for nearly ten years. Adding an interesting twist to the situation, NBA icon Shaquille O’Neal has been playfully teasing those responsible for his departure.

The NFL Hall of Famer in question had apparently been earning a substantial annual salary of three million dollars while being associated with Fox Sports ‘Undisputed’. He said, “If Shannon Sharpe needs me, I am happy to be there for him. And if that includes him wanting to come on First Take, the bosses at ESPN know that is something I would support.” Shaquille O’Neal also endorsed this idea, as he shared the clip of Stephen A. Smith’s statement on his social media platform.

One of the rumored reasons behind Shannon Sharpe’s decision to leave is his co-host, Skip Bayless. Over the course of several years, the two have been observed engaging in intense and heated arguments on multiple occasions. These disputes are believed to have contributed to Sharpe’s departure from the show.

Shannon Sharpe’s and Skip Bayless’ infamous argument

Throughout their years together, Sharpe and Bayless have been involved in numerous heated arguments, but one particular exchange stands out. During a discussion where Skip Bayless was praising Tom Brady, he made a remark directed at Sharpe, stating, “This man (Brady) is playing at a high level at 45 when you [Sharpe] had to stop at 35.” In this comment, Bayless seemingly mocked Sharpe for retiring at 35 while Brady continues to play at an advanced age. This comparison did not sit well with Sharpe, leading him to angrily throw his glasses off in a fit of rage.
