The Workout Routine of Giannis Antetokounmpo That Was Responsible For His Transformation

When Giannis Antetokounmpo came to the NBA in 2013, he was nowhere close to the beast he is now. He came in is as a skinny 18-year old, and joined the Milwaukee Bucks. But over the years, he has transformed himself not only into one of the best players in the league but also one of the fittest.

To build a body of such stature, he needs to follow a strict workout routine and a diet to complement it. And when it comes to following a regimen, there’s no off-season and perhaps very few cheat days.

Giannis Antetokounmpo and his fitness routine

According to Health Yogi, Giannis spends two hours a day exercising split across two times for an hour each. He exercises on all days except Sunday, which is his rest day. His weekly routine is split equally between his upper body and lower body. Mondays and Wednesdays, Giannis works on his upper body while he works on his lower body on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The NBA Champion spends his Saturdays for cardio workouts which might include running or involving in other sports.

In a recent Insta post, Giannis expressed his love for movement when he wrote, “The outdoors has me thinking I’m some type of badass.”

A reporter has once asked Giannis Antetokounmpo about his favorite workout. To the question, he replied they were those exercises that help him develop as an all-round player. In his own words, “I consider myself an all-around player so I try to reflect that in what I do to prepare off the court. I love exercises that help improve all parts of my game to be a better player in all aspects of the game.”

Today, Giannis is not just a rim dominator but someone who can drop threes (although never consistent) if the need be. Plus, his bulky mass is enough to intimidate the best.
