NBA‘s defending champions Toronto Raptors are currently third in the Eastern Conference with a win-loss record of 27-14. Given that they had lost Kawhi Leonard to almost nothing in the pre-season, the position seems overwhelming to many.

However, there seems to be a shift in tactics. Leonard had left a void with no central player to build the team around.

From playing the likes of Serge Ibaka and Kyle Lowry around Kawhi Leonard, the focus now seems to be shifting towards the trio of Pascal Siakam, Fred van Vleet and OG Anunoby.

Amidst such times, the usual starting trio of Marc Gasol, Serge Ibaka and Kyle Lowry could see themselves move away from Toronto.

The Los Angeles Times reported that a few teams are looking at Marc Gasol and Serge Ibaka as players that could potentially join them and that the teams can also lure Kyle Lowry if they offer the right price.

Considering players’ age and the fact that the Raptors would build for the future, Gasol, 34, and Ibaka, 30, would not be a loss going away.

In fact, Gasol has shown signs of falling down offensively, although he still makes his defensive presence known.

Lowry, on the other hand, might be a bigger loss for the Raptors. Although 34 years old, Lowry has been the top scorer for the Raptors averaging 20.4 points and 7.6 assists per game this season. Lowry also has a little more left on his contract as compared to the other two.

The Raptors are currently third in the Eastern Conference with a win-loss record of 28-14. And they have managed this with Siakam out with for a significant amount of time. If they do trade the veterans on their roster, the Raptors could look to build their team around the likes of Siakam, who has already impressed at the start of the season before an injury slump.
