Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark have sparked the college basketball GOAT debate. Both of them have been at loggerheads when it comes to proving their dominance. There have been many murmurs regarding their rivalry and both of them are touted as some of the best players of their generation. Even on the internet, one can spot endless debates surrounding the two.
The Louisiana State University Lady Tigers star Angel Reese recently opened up about her relationship with her arch-nemesis Caitlin Clark.

Reese was interviewing for Women’s Health Magazine and was taking the interviewer Amanda Lucci through various points in her life when she decided to shed light on her equation with the women’s basketball leading points scorer. “I love that we’re able to compete and still be cool after, regardless of the outside noise,” Reese opined. “People even say Magic [Johnson] and Larry Bird, that era [of basketball] and how it was. If that’s who we are, then okay, cool.…I think we’re both happy about what’s going on,” she further stated as per Women’s Health Magazine.

The Reese-Clark rivalry came to the fore when the LSU star made the “You can’t see me” gesture pointing towards Clark in the NCAA Final 2022-23. Clark had previously engaged in the antics during one of her games that season. This apparently led the audiences to speculate that the two weren’t on friendly terms with each other and divided the internet on the grounds of morality.
The competition between the two has often been compared to Larry Bird and Magic Johnson’s conflict since like their men’s counterparts, the Clark-Reese angle could span a lot of years in the WNBA.

Moreover, Clark and Reese have also played against each other during their Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) days. While Reese represented the Team Takeover, Clark was part of the All Iowa Attack. Hence, this strife has just grown in proportion after entering the college circuit. Meanwhile, Reese also had a word for her haters.
No Regrets For Reese
Since Reese was taunted for the same John Cena antic that Clark had done, the Maryland-born chose to ignore the negative words and rather focus on the lives she has influenced in a positive manner. “People are going to say what they want to say, but I know how many people I have impacted in a positive way.” She further added that she doesn’t “live with any regrets.”

With both Reese and Clark on the verge of going pro, fans will be excited to watch the two battle against each other in the WNBA. And viewers will be keen to see if the rivalry between them turns out to be much like Magic Johnson and Larry Bird.
