The Georgia Bulldogs QB Carson Beck is ruling the internet and social media. Sadly, he no longer belongs to the Bulldogs. The former weapon of Kirby Smart has swapped wagons and transferred to Mario Cristobal’s Miami Hurricanes. Yes, he took a U-turn when his next step was supposed to be the 2025 NFL Draft. Shocking, right? And do you know what’s more shocking? The NIL numbers that Beck is carrying with him. Reports say that it’s 10 MILLION DOLLARS! Now that opens up to some serious discussion as it stirred the NIL agents.

Beck appeared to be rethinking his plans for 2025. Just two weeks ago, he announced that he would be entering the 2025 NFL Draft. And look at him now. The former Bulldogs QB entered the transfer portal on Thursday, January 9th, hoping for one last shot at college football glory. And barely 24 hours later, he’s already a Hurricane! Looks like he’s aiming to boost his NFL draft stock in Miami next year.

As per the reports, in one season with Cristobal’s squad, he is going to earn $4 million. Now if that sounds too big an amount, just wait! As reported by Front Office Sports, the QB has secured nearly $10 million in NIL deals combined over the last 12 months. So, this calls for some in-depth analysis.

On The Kneaux podcast, head NIL agent Noah Reisenfeld shed light on how college football and the NFL are two different landscapes for the agents. While they must be benefiting more from the NFL, surprisingly that is not the case. “It’s so relative to the percentages, the industry-standard pretty much every NIL agency charges 20%. When people hear that they think it’s outrageous,” stated Reisenfield.

The standards are different for the NFL and NBA. As the agent enlightened, “The NFL and NBA standard is 3 to 5% right. NBA’s five NFL’s 3.” But Beck’s NIL numbers have turned the heads of most agents, like Reisenfeld.

Without taking Beck’s name, he stated, “We ran some numbers with some people that do analytics and stuff like a 10 million deal in the NFL is relative to an a million dollar deal in college football.” So it’s time for some calculation, and the results are surely going to leave you surprised.

“So if you do the numbers on it 3% of 10 million is 300,000 2% or 20% of 100 a million is 200,000 so it’s actually relatively less than what you’re making as an agent at the NFL and NBA level,” helped the agent. In that case, the agents are going to benefit more from Beck’s figures as compared to any NFL and NBA star. In this way, it opens up to Beck’s comparison with NFL quarterbacks.

How Carson Beck is giving tough competition to NFL quarterbacks

With the Miami break, Beck is responsible for perhaps the most shocking story of the upcoming offseason. Making $4 million from the Hurricanes makes him one of the highest-paid players in college football. As analyst Barry Jackson tweeted on January 10, “The Fox affiliate in Miami reports that UM’s contract with Carson Beck is a one-year, $4 M deal. As a perspective, former second-round pick Will Levis made $950,000 base as Tennessee Titans starting QB this season.”

After all, we must know that getting $4 million is no joke to play quarterback at any level. Reports say eight quarterbacks started at least six games in the 2024 season. And how much did they make out of their gig? Definitely not $4 million! But no matter how lucrative the offer that Beck grabbed, he fell in ESPN analyst Paul Finebaum’s eyes.

The analyst was reminded of the Caleb Downs saga, as the safety chose the Ohio State Buckeyes after flirting with the Bulldogs. Paul Finebaum commented, “The fact that Carson Beck didn’t stay at Georgia doesn’t surprise me. But the man’s going to the ACC after being the Heisman favorite in August at Georgia.” Well, Carson Beck’s NIL payday and surprise transfer portal moves are blowing everyone away, even more than his on-field stats.
